Celebrating Strength and Creativity: Avyanna at the Bangalore International Centre
A group exhibition at the Bangalore International Centre celebrating women’s voices, creative expression, and collective empowerment.

March 2025 – As part of the International Women’s Day celebrations, the Avyanna art exhibition brought together a powerful ensemble of women artists at the Bangalore International Centre, presented by the Oorja art collective and curated by MG Dodammani.

The name Avyanna — meaning strong, powerful, beautiful woman — framed not just a title but a spirit of expression and resilience. The show featured 60 artworks by 12 women artists, including Nidhi Bhatia herself, each offering a unique lens on theme, nature, self and society.

In her series Between Silence and Light, Nidhi explored meditation, inner peace, and the harmony of reflective stillness — a journey that unfolded on the canvas with calm palettes and purposeful composition. The response from visitors was warm, with thoughtful conversations around colour, form, and the emotional resonance of the work.

Nature — in many of the artists’ works — emerged as a guiding theme: both as muse and metaphor. Curator Dodammani reminded viewers that art is not only expression but advocacy — calling for renewed balance with the environment. Proceeds from the exhibition’s special auction went to Karunashraya Institute of Palliative Care Education and Research, linking art with compassion and social purpose.

This gathering of voices — each distinct yet harmonious — celebrated creativity as a vital force in community, healing, and transformation.
