Commission Work

Commissioning a painting is one of the most personal things you can do. It begins with a conversation and ends with something made entirely for you. A feeling, a space, a person, a memory: every commissioned piece is one of a kind, made with the same care and intention as every painting in the studio.

Project Abhishek

A couple portrait
Thank you Nidhi for the amazing portrait. We were contemplating getting the pic enlarged, but the painting has come out better I must say. Beautiful art work… Thanks again!

A pet portrait for Chithra
Love it Nidhi… cannot wait to put it up! My daughter likes Duke’s painting, which is a big compliment to you!

Project Shweta

A Buddha wall art for the living room
She patiently gave multiple sketches, which helped me visualise what I was looking for… when I saw the finished work I was spellbound. The intricate details of Buddha’s meditating and smiling face felt surreal. Thank you Nidhi for the awesome, beautiful Buddhaji’s painting custom made for my home, and thanks for being a friend for life.

How a commission works

1. Reach Out

Start by sending a message on WhatsApp or Instagram. No formal brief needed. Just tell me what’s on your mind: a feeling, a space, a person, a memory. We’ll figure out the rest together.

2. The Brief

Once we connect, I’ll ask you to share the why (what the piece is for and how it should feel), the what (subject, theme, mood or inspiration), your timeline, the medium (oil, acrylic, charcoal or pastel, or let me suggest), the size you have in mind; and your budget, so I can guide you honestly. Reference images or existing artworks you love are always welcome.

3. The Estimation

Based on your brief I share a detailed estimation covering what is included (canvas, medium, framing if applicable, and one revision round) and what is not: shipping, custom framing beyond standard, and express charges if the timeline is tight. The final size, medium, timeline and price are all confirmed in writing before we proceed.

4. The Contract

Before the brush touches canvas, we sign a simple agreement confirming size, medium, timeline and total price. This protects both of us and ensures complete clarity from the start.

5. Let’s Begin

A 40% advance is required to begin work; it secures your slot in my schedule and confirms your commitment to the piece. The remaining 60% is due before the painting is shipped or handed over.

6. During the Process

You won’t be left wondering. I share progress updates at key stages (sketch, initial layers, and near completion) so you can see your painting coming to life. One revision round is included if the direction needs adjusting.

7. The Handover

Every commissioned piece is one of a kind, made with the same care and intention as every painting in my studio, just made entirely for you.
